Let Your Light Shine✨

This year when I came out of hiding, there was this one word on my mind “ Let your light shine! I was reading the scriptures one day and this jumped out at me— “You are the light [of Christ] to the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house” (Matt5:14-16).

These verses hit hard in the right spots because I had been contemplating how I was going to do great things but from my safe cocoon. So while writing this, I knew there was no way I was going to let my light shine by hiding under the bed. I had to get out.

What is more interesting is I had thought life revolves around me —so who cares whether I come out or hide? But from this scripture, I realize it’s not about my selfish desires but about letting Christ’s light shine through me. Using the gifts He has blessed me with to serve humanity.

I might have thought that nobody is affected each time I choose to dim my light, but I have come to realize there is always that one person or a multitude whose lives we impact each time we choose to let our light shine. There are people and destinies tied to us letting our light shine. And at the end of the day, this brings so much glory, honor, and praise to our father in heaven.

Therefore, I have chosen this year to let my light shine✨ and I encourage you to do the same. It doesn’t have to be big but start from where you are and let them see your light. My prayer for us this remaining part of the year is that we let God’s light shine in us and through us♥️.
